BIODIVERSITY

Maintaining good levels of biodiversity in agrosystems requires the use of good agricultural practices that ensure the preservation of soil fertility, the proper management of water resources, weed and pest control using low-impact methods.

All these actions promote biological diversity in the territory, while improving the quality of air, water and soil. Our company believes in this process and for this reason since 2022 we have obtained the certification: Biodiversity Friend.

“VITA NOSTRA”

OUR LIFE

Our primary vocation is expressed through the search for balance between the increasing use of natural products, to the advantage of cultivation, and the application of ancient techniques.

After many years we have developed a production protocol called "Vita Nostra".

  • FITOBOOSTER PROCESS

We are making increasing use of phytoremedial products made of plant substances (for example, algae, aloe, propolis) thanks to which the natural resistance of plants is enhanced.

  • GREEN MANURE

The Green manure is an ancient practice that consists in the autumn sowing of a mixture of plants or parts of them and then in the spring mowing in order to improve fertility, the balance of nutrients and soil structure.

  • ORGANIC MANURE

Manure, in addition to providing nitrogen, potassium and magnesium, promotes the contribution of a large amount of humus to the soil, which is essential to achieve a good balance within the vineyard. Manure also helps the soil to recover and increase fertility.

  • STRIPPING

The stripping (scalzatura) is an ancient practice of vineyard, actually simple, but of great importance, which aims to remove in a natural and mechanical way the grass close to the vines avoiding having to use chemicals.

  • MOWING

The grass is regularly cut to a minimum height of 15 cm from the ground, to promote a vegetative situation rich in herbs and flowers, creating a suitable ecosystem for insects and microfauna.

  • HARVEST

The manual harvest guarantees a careful selection of the grapes and, consequently, a higher quality vinification. This type of procedure allows us to practice the so-called "scalar harvest", that is, the harvest of the grapes practiced in several stages, gradually, upon reaching the ideal ripeness.

  • BEES

For constant monitoring by measurement and preservation of our natural habitat, we have introduced bees (30,000 specimens). It is our environmental watchmen who warn us when something is out of balance. If harmful plant protection products were used, they would not survive. Their presence is therefore a guarantee of environmental health. Moreover, bees, through the healing action that they perform on the GRAPES, keep under control diseases, such as acid rot and wounds caused by hail.

  • BUG HOTEL

A good reason to build a Bug Hotel is the defense of biodiversity. For some insects it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a suitable place for nesting and wintering (wild bees, ladybugs). Insects, in particular, play a fundamental ecological role for the overall natural balance. Their preservation protects our very survival. Think, for example, that by virtue of their "sustainable" collaboration you can fight pests through less use of pesticides and improve the pollination of crops.

  • synergistic vegetable garden

The synergistic garden is a type of cultivation that takes place in full respect of nature by exploiting a kind of cooperation between plants and the mutual help that these, provided they are appropriately associated, are able to exchange. Combining synergistically and in harmony flowers, plants and vegetables, allows you to totally eliminate the use of plant protection products or other additives, also promoting mechanisms of soil self-pertility, without ploughing or fertilization.
